Israelis Abroad launches global programming

Israelis Abroad is launching programming across Europe and North America.

“We are so thrilled that the Israeli Cultural Connection’s ‘Raise the Bar’ program is a part of Mosaic United’s Israelis Abroad initiative,” said Ronit Jacobs, Director of Israeli Cultural Connection (ICC@JCC) at the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto, California.

Ronit continued, “This is validation of our work, and more importantly allows more of the second-generation of Israelis and their families to benefit and grow their Jewish Israeli identities.”

ICC@JCC is just one of ten organizations offering eighteen programs across North America as part of Israelis Abroad. Programs and program providers were selected as part of an extensive request for proposal (RFP) process. More than 100 organizations submitted applications for nearly 300 programs.

“Through the RFP process, we saw so many organizations and individuals either engaged in critical work with Israelis abroad or thoughtful plans of how to reach them,” said Elad Mayer, Director of Israelis Abroad. “We hope that our funding will continue to grow, so that we can add many more program providers and programs to our initiative.”

In addition, Israelis Abroad has also begun work in Europe. Shelanu of London and Zusammen of Berlin serve Israelis in their areas. Working with Israelis Abroad, the two European centers will be able to both expand and deepen the programming they offer to local Israelis.
